Gizzi Film Factory
Goal: the video plan lives on one page you can open from your phone. New films get made and posted without you at the Mac. You start a batch from the Claude phone app, a bot, or the cloud computer, or it refills itself.
What exists today
| Piece | Where | Works unattended? |
|---|---|---|
| Slate (191 videos, ~124 left) | slate/data.py and a local slate.html from Oct 9 |
No. The statuses are out of date and you can't reach it from your phone |
| Film-making (write, voice, draw, render) | This Mac: brush-film skill, Kokoro voices, film folders | Partly. It needs me in a terminal to run the batch |
| Posting | This Mac: launchd scheduler + signed-in browsers | Yes, 2 films a day from post-schedule.json |
| Cloud computer | 4 CPU / 8 GB / 40 GB, Claude signed in | It's always on, but too small to render, and it has no film files and no social logins |
| Mac | Plugged in, kept awake (caffeinate) | It's on as long as it stays plugged in |
The plan
- The slate page. I fix the statuses and publish the slate to a fixed URL that you can bookmark on your phone. It shows every series, what's done, what's in progress, what's scheduled, and links to posts. The factory republishes it after every step.
film-factory, one command.film-factory next 6picks the next films from the slate and runs this week's batch steps with no human. The steps are script, voices, chapters, render, review, posting files and schedule.- It runs headless Claude with a written runbook. A lock means only one batch runs at a time, and there's a token cap per film. It logs to the slate page.
film-factory statusreports where each film is.
- Triggers. All of them end at the same command:
- Claude phone app: a permanent "Film Factory" Remote Control session on the Mac. Open it in the app and say "make 6 more".
- Allternit bots and Grok bot: a film-factory skill on the Mac runtime, so any bot can be told "make the next batch".
- Cloud computer: it writes a request to an inbox that the Mac picks up. It doesn't render, because 4 shared CPUs and 40 GB is too small for a 10-minute show.
- Auto-refill: when fewer than 4 days of posts are scheduled, the factory starts the next batch on its own.
- What the factory does on its own (the rules I used this week):
- It only uses facts that are in an Allternit News issue, and it checks them line by line.
- It only uses stock Kokoro voices, never a cloned one.
- It posts no more than 3 films a day, because of the YouTube thumbnail cap.
- It holds a film rather than posting it when its review fails.
- It notifies you only when something is blocked.
Limits to know
- If the Mac is off or asleep, nothing renders. Requests wait until it's back. For truly Mac-free renders, the option is a rented render server, roughly $60–120 a month for 16 cores. That's your call.
- Claude usage: a 10-film batch uses a lot of your Claude plan. Auto-refill at 6 films every 3 days keeps posting at 2 a day.
- The Agent Hits music videos stay on hold until the ElevenLabs credits reset on Nov 8.
Build order (about one session)
| Step | What | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Slate page: fix statuses, publish to a fixed URL | Opens on your phone |
| 2 | film-factory command + runbook + lock + logs |
next 1 makes and schedules a film with nobody watching |
| 3 | Remote Control "Film Factory" session kept alive | It shows in the Claude phone app |
| 4 | Bot skill + cloud inbox + auto-refill | A bot message starts a batch |
