Group chat stage

Built and shipped: the group stage, idle and working

Lead: This combines the spotlight graph and the orbit spotlight. The speaker is big in the middle with a speech bubble, and the others orbit slowly. Every link in the network stays drawn, between the orbiting bots too. Hover a bot to light up its links and see its last words, and click one to @mention it.

The combined group stage

It opens on Idle: nothing is running, so no bot holds the middle. The room card sits there instead. It shows what the room is for, what happened since you were last here, what it made, and ways to start. The bots orbit slowly around it with their links dimmed, and the ones idle longest doze (the little z). Switch to Working to see a job run.

React · Group stage · Idle / Working (switch top right)

What happens in the scene:

  1. You ask the room. The lead (Dusty) takes the middle and answers.
  2. Dusty hands off to Axi. The link lights up, a dot flies along it, and Axi takes the middle.
  3. The work passes on, Cleo to Fern to Otis, and each hand-off lights its link.
  4. What gets made (the post, the header image) collects bottom left.
  5. Otis needs your OK, and "Needs you" names Otis.

Listeners turn toward the speaker, and the bot about to receive work gets a coloured ring. When you send or scroll, the group flies into the top bar as a row of small avatars, as a single bot does. Tap that row and the group comes back.

In the app it uses each bot's own avatar and the room's real conversation. The speaker is whichever bot is answering right now, and a hand-off is one bot answering after another.
