Project background in Customize appearance

Each project now picks its own background from the Customize appearance icon. The change is in open PRs and is not live yet.

Checks

Checked

Appearance and backdrop tests pass, and typecheck passes. The real editor and banner worked in Chrome at 1280 and 390 wide, including save and reload.

Not checked

No signed-in run against a real runtime. The Chrome check mounted the editor directly on a test page. The look is stored per browser or app, as bot looks are, so it does not follow a person to another device.

Bug fixed on the way

A setting saved just before a dialog closed could be lost, because the write waited for a render that never came. writeSetting now writes at once. The new test fails with the old setter.
